Dear students of MGMT 101 Group 1

For your first session, you are to read the given materials and then attempt a follow-up assignment. Please watch the following instructional video.

Instructions for session 1

For session 1, your assignment you have to do your work and upload it as a PDF document. Since this platform does not really have an ASSIGNMENT section, rather it has an EXAM section. So, please do the following work, then save your work as a PDF file, and upload your work in the next STEP. Be mindful that the next step will be like an EXAM but it's just the way platform is designed (missing feature I suppose). 

The deadline for your work is Tuesday 20th September before midnight. There are penalties associated with lateness.
Late by 1 hour or less = 0% penalty, still marked as PRESENT
Late by 1 hour to 12 hours = 5% penalty on work, marked as Half-absent
Late by 12 hours to 24 hours = 10% penalty on work, marked as ABSENT
Late by 24 hours = Work not accepted and will be given a ZERO, Marked as ABSENT
Upload only PDF file. No other file format will be accepted and I will give you a ZERO for incorrect versions.
Ensure you have checked your work for plagiarsim.

ASSIGNMENT:

Read chapter 1 "Management Today"  of your text-book "Fundamentals of Management - Stephen P. Robbins". After having read the chapter, you can use the textbook and any other valid resources to answer the following questions. 

Here are your questions:

1. Is there one best “style” of management? Why or why not? (average 200 words - 35 points)
   
2. Consider your local greengrocer. Discuss how managers of such small businesses can adopt Mintzberg’s ten managerial roles to run their business. (average 200 words - 35 points)
   
3. Are there any differences between the managerial functions in a for-profit organization and a not-for-profit organization? Explain. (average 150 words - 30 points)
